Marty (Lawrence) Baugher-Recording Secretary
Marty Baugher was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois. A graduate of Glen Oak Grade School, Woodruff High School, and Eureka College with a Bachelors in Education, Marty continued to live in the Peoria area. She married George “Mick” Baugher in 1970. Marty has been an on-again, off-again genealogist since the age of 13 when her cousin started her on “BC” research (before computer). Both Marty’s grandmothers were the 13th and last child in their families. Her great-aunt entertained her with tons of tales about the things that happened in the “olden days” (all of them true). Marty couldn’t help but be curious about all those people and places. Marty has raised three children: Mark, Mary and Michael and is almost ready to turn her research over to her greatest treasures: her three grandsons Xander, Xaiden, and Xachri. Marty’s other interests include sign language, scrapbooking, and collecting Teddy Bears. Marty has been a member since 2005 and is currently the PCGS Recording Secretary.
