As a lifelong lover of history, especially local history, Sue has spent much of her life exploring the stories the Peoria area has to tell. A reader of mostly non fiction, she is always looking for the back story or human interest side of things. After researching Jubilee College for many years, she wrote its story in a book titled Shades of Sepia. The research continues.
A love of vintage architecture and books has been continual. Her favorite piece is an 1836 map showing the capital of Illinois to be Vandalia. Growing up in rural Dunlap gave her easy access to an old cemetery. That interest continues, and her husband insists that if he were a historic cemetery, he’d get more attention.
