Girls in White Dresses: Stories spun from the fabric of our lives
“Girls in White Dresses: Stories gathered and tales spun from the fabric of our lives” by Jan Powers
Some people collect information and photographs and turn them into a family tree, or maybe a detailed document. Combining my love of writing and painting, I created “Girls in White Dresses,” a visual anthology.
At the heart of all of the stories are real women from my past, local women, my ancestors, and the ancestors of the family that built and lived in my house a hundred years ago. I expand on that with essays about the connecting element of the stories as well as historical facts – women and the white dresses they wore.
Jan will be joining us in-person. Participants may join via Zoom or in-person, as well.
